Guru Purnima 2008 in Germany
Dear Haidakhandis,
We sincerely would like to invite you to our annual Gurupurnima celebrations to the
German Ashram in Rieferath which also celebrates its 30th year of existence. We are looking forward to singing and dancing, to holding Satsang and to lovingly meeting devotees from all over the world. The festivity will take place from 16 - 20 July with daily yagnas, pujas and kirtans. We are looking forward to a big festival in honor of Babaji! Come all in large numbers!
The chairman of the Indian Samaj, Alok Banerjee and his escort will be present from 16 - 18 July. To get attuned to the main event on 18 July we will be singing throughout the full moon night.
The group GOMA will give a wonderful concert on 19 July and on 20 July a closing yagna will take place. The afternoons will be filled with satsang, meditation, dance and a joint walking-tour throughout our idyllic Rieferath countryside and our children will also receive many pleasant surprises. Throughout the entire celebration period we will be very well catered for by our Italian cooks!
You are also welcome to join in the preparations before the festival or stay on after
the celebrations. Please let us know as soon as possible if you intend to come. This will facilitate the planning procedures.
How to get there
By Car
Motorway A3 (from Cologne/ Köln) to intersection Sieburg. Towards “Hennef “on the A 565. Exit “Hennef Ost”. At the lights take the left lane towards “Waldbröl”. At the roundabout at Ruppichteroth turn to the right, towards „Herchen“ (not: „Windeck“!). Keep on this road for about 6 kilometres till you see the sign “Rieferath”. After this sign take the second road on the right, follow this road the hill down, turn right again and immediately left over the little bridge into the village.
Important! Please observe the parking sign.
By Motorway A3 (from Frankfurt)
Exit “Bad Honnef/Linz”, towards “Eitorf”. In Eitorf: Go straight at the first and second lights, cross the railway. After the bridge turn right. At the end of this road (you will see a restaurant with a tree) turn left. Follow the road through some villages till “Niederottersbach”. Turn right in a left-hand bend towards “Rieferath”. At the (place name) sign “Rieferath” turn left, immediately left again over the little bridge into the village.
Important! Please observe the parking sign.
By train
To “Eitorf/Sieg” station, we can pick you up there. Please let the ashram know before it you need to be picked up.
